What business owners tell us afterwards

YL

Yong Li Ng

Retailer · Toa Payoh

"I had been putting this off for a long time because I assumed it would be complicated and expensive. The Lay of the Land session was neither. Rajan was direct about what was worth trying and what I should leave alone. The written map they sent afterwards was genuinely useful — I still refer back to it."

Mohamad Hafiz

Plumbing Contractor · Jurong

"The bridging setup took about three weeks as they said it would. Our booking system now pushes jobs straight into our invoicing software — no more typing the same thing twice. There was one small hiccup in the first week after go-live, but Lin was on it the same afternoon. Four stars because no project is perfectly smooth, but this one came close."

Chew Ting Lim

Tuition Centre · Bishan

"We run a small tuition centre with just me and two part-timers. I was spending about four hours every Sunday on admin — enrollment confirmations, fee reminders, attendance records. After the Bridging Setup, that is now down to about forty minutes. Amirah's quarterly check-ins are brief and actually tell me what I need to know."

Accountancy Practice · CBD

"I appreciated that they spent the first session asking questions rather than selling. We ended up doing the assessment and then decided to wait three months before starting any setup — our busy season was coming. They were completely fine with that and followed up at the right time. The actual Bridging Setup was smooth."

F&B Owner · Tiong Bahru

"The assessment told me honestly that two of the three things I thought I needed were probably not worth doing yet. I appreciated the straightforwardness. We did the third one — connecting our reservation system to our supplier orders — and it has been running well for five months now with zero issues."

Beauty Salon · Tampines

"Been on the monthly plan for eight months. It is genuinely reassuring to know someone is keeping an eye on the connections and will catch anything before it becomes a problem. The quarterly review is three pages — which is exactly the right length. I have recommended Pulau Systems to two other business owners in this building."

Case Studies

Three engagements, in some detail

Case Study · Bridging Setup

Neighbourhood hardware retailer, Ang Mo Kio

The Challenge

The owner was manually transferring purchase orders from their supplier portal into their accounting software each morning — a task that took about 45 minutes and occasionally resulted in errors when stock counts didn't match invoices.

What We Did

Following a Lay of the Land session, we built a connection between the supplier portal and the accounting system. Approved orders now transfer automatically each evening, with a simple exception flag when anything looks unusual.

The Outcome

Daily transfer time dropped from 45 minutes to around 5 minutes of review. Stock discrepancies fell by roughly 70% in the first two months. The owner has not needed to adjust the connection since go-live — it has run as set.

"I had been doing that manually every single day for four years. Now I check a short summary on my phone before I open up. That is it."

Case Study · Mainland Support Plan

Property management firm, Raffles Place

The Challenge

A four-person property management office had set up several connected tools two years earlier using a different provider. The connections had drifted — some were duplicating data, one had stopped updating, and nobody in the team knew how to fix them.

What We Did

We reviewed the existing setup, documented what each connection was supposed to do, corrected the drift, and enrolled the firm on the monthly plan. Within the first quarter we identified and cleared three issues before they became visible to the client.

The Outcome

The team has been on the monthly plan for eleven months. No significant disruptions. The principal told us in their last quarterly review that having someone watching the connections lets them focus on client work rather than worrying about the plumbing.

"The previous setup was a black box. Now I actually understand what is connected to what, and there is someone I can call if anything is unusual."

Case Study · Lay of the Land

Independent bakery, Queenstown

The Challenge

The owner had read about AI tools for small businesses and was curious but cautious. She was not sure whether any of them applied to a bakery, and did not want to spend money finding out the hard way.

What We Did

A single Lay of the Land session. We looked at her ordering process, her custom cake enquiries, her social media responses, and her weekly stock ordering. We identified one area with a clear, modest opportunity and two where the effort would outweigh the gain.

The Outcome

She decided to act on one recommendation and leave the others. The written map cost S$190 and saved her the time and uncertainty of experimenting on her own. She has not yet done a setup — and may not need one. That is a perfectly fine outcome.

"S$190 for someone to tell me clearly what to do and what to ignore. Worth every dollar."
